Bushido game

Took a game with a friend today. Long time since last time, but it went quite smooth and with some minor skill and rules lookups.
If I had to choose just one game, this would be it as there is so much depth and stuff to do.

Bushido Buddha

I found this small Buddha statue in a home pimping store, and decided it was meant for something bigger than spending its life on a shelf unpainted. Instead it will spend it on a shelf painted. :)
Anyway, it will be nice as an objective or terrain piece for bushido.

Warzone game

Yesterday we played two games with full rules at the club. Very engaging and fun games!
First of was a 1v1 1000p match with Legion vs Hood, as the legion player I was happy to take down the doomtroopers and warlord, but fell short in the end.

Game two was a 2v2 1600p Imperial and Mishima vs A horde of the Hood. We only got to finish turn 2 before it was too late in the evening, but we had a blast and learned a lot!

After the final..

I managed to get all the block painting done and washed the models, next up is detailing, highlights and big boss Alakhais robe.
Then I will move on to the Mishima!

As a side note, I really dont care for soccer, but I appreciated they played extra long as I had time to finish the washing!  :)

The Liebster Award

Hello again, this morning I had got this fancy award from fellow blogger Jiaqi Lim from Toyconstruct. I have been away awfully much this spring due to everything, but just recently I got back into the hobby and found time and inspiration to paint again, so this award is something of a little extra motivation.

As the rules are, there is the questions that need to be answered:

1. Why did you start blogging?

To have a place online to store all the pictures of my models, this quickly growed into a real blog and I try hard to not let anything non-hobby slip in.

2. If you could change one thing about wargaming hobby, what would it be?

Nothing really, I am quite content with it as it is, perhaps find more time, but that goes for everything I guess.

 3. What is best in life?

When the working week is done, to sit down with some models and a cold beer, listening to some good tunes and having my great GF next to me, reading or whatever she likes to relax with. Talking or just enjoying life, that is the best I can talk about here.

4. Fame or Fortune

I already get awards so bring the fortune!

5. What miniatures are you most proud of having painted.

Don´t know if proud is the right word, but my napoleoinc army takes some determination to get done, but I think I am most proud of the times I try some new technique and climb out of my comfort zone and actually do well.

6. How do you deal with a burnout?

Let it bleed out and read a lot instead, I usually read about war history or similar genres and after a while I get inspired by something I can relate to in gaming and that gets the idéas spinning and all of a sudden, there I am painting again!

7. Why is a Raven like a writing desk?

More like a postman, no?

8. Star Wars or Star Trek?

Star Wars, any day of the week.

9. If you could only buy from one miniature company from now on, which would it be?

Prodos games, as they both do the amazing models for new warzone ressurection, but also provide 3D printing, and as such can make pretty much everything. In a world where I can only buy from one company, I guess the copyright thing is also obsolete, right?

10. What is your favourite takeaway?

I cook my own food but if I have to take away it would be a pizza, but only because I don´t have the time for anything else.

11.What do you like most (or least) about blogging?

It is great to get feedback and see other peoples hobbies, while I grew up I only had my dad's magazines about everything hobby, which while they were nice never had this wargaming thing, railroading was the closest. Now we can all share and talk about it when we want, and that is great.

Next up, my 6 nominations of blogs:

1. Kampgruppe-engel : A great guy and a very talented painter with a bit of everything on his blog, check out his "Skägglavsfantasy"!

2. Wargames and walking : A nice blog with both nice gaming as well as a trip to museums here and there.

3. Bens Soldiers : Ben blogs about mostly modern stuff, and it has been nice to follow his blog from almost the start, great progress man!

4. Donogh mcCarthy : Great narrative AAR's and nice pictures of games!

5. Tinymetalmen : Another place of inspiration for a lot of different stuff!

6. Well, my blog list is'nt too big and there are not so many smaller blogs that I follow regulary that has not already been nominated!

To those who got nominated:

The Award conditions are as shown below:
  • Link back to the blog that nominated you.
  • Nominate other blogs with 200 or less followers
  • Answer a couple of questions

So feel free to increase the exposure for all budding hobby blogs starting out in sharing wargaming matter, model kits, miniatures and other collectible!

See you all!

Bushido demons!

There has been a long while again. Work, life and more work has kept me from the brushes.
But! I took a spontaneous trip to LinCon this friday and got the inspiration flowing again.
Amongst a lot of other stuff (you will see that in another post) I found an army of three Oni demons for bushido! I choose the models only because their look as that will get me painting again.

Airbrush box

After getting back in flames of war, I want to use the airbrush to get the camo right. To do that I need somewhere to be, and after a bit of googling and talking to some more experienced hobbyists I went with a simple but hopefully working solution.
The pictures should talk for themselves regarding construction, and the idea is to put the box under the kitchen-fan and the tube on top is to go up through the opened filter to get more airflow. A big something underneath as cover for the stove and it should all be enough to paint some very small tanks with acrylics.
I hope. :)
Oh, it all costed around €20!

Long time no see..

I's been a while since the last post,  mainly due to life in general, but also as I discovered that the blogger app didn't want to post my posts, though it said that the posts were posted. So I will do a little summary of the lost posts in this post;

I have begun to model some more in 1/35, and I intend to make a quite large diorama with the monstrous Karl Gerät along with a pz-IV and a wrecked t-34.
This is the first time I work with photo etched brass, not that I have avoided it, but anyhow.. it is a lot of it, and super many small pieces in the kit overall.

I have also started with Flames of War again as I discovered a lot of players in the next town, and I went for panzers!
